What could be more fun than bombing around on a high powered, highly maneuverable personal boat? Honestly? Not much can beat it, and the better you get at it, the more fun it is! But what is the best way to get one? Consider these points:
A. Hourly Rentals: Renting a waverunner by the hour is a great way to go if all you want to do is hot dog and bomb around in one small area. It’s a good way to experiment with, and get the feel of the machine without having to go any distance. We recommend renting one for each person in your party or wind up usually waiting a lot. If you are playing around in close proximity to your friend, please be very careful to keep track of where they are all the time! Pay close attention to the water conditions in the immediate area of where you will be renting the machine; For example, if your rental company is located right on the harbor, look carefully at the size of the waves that the wind and boats are creating... if you’re not a real water person you could spend the whole hour putting around, not having any fun at all. We highly recommend renting in a location that gives you a choice of a variety of water conditions with as little boating traffic as possible as well.
B. Guided Waverunner Tours: We think that this is a better option for the money. One reason is, you get more time on the machine. Secondly, you get at least two opportunities to stop and play around on the machine anyway. Third, you are under the watchful eye of an experienced Instructor and Island Guide, who can not only teach you some moves but keep you safe. a Best of all, it’s the only way to see some really cool places that no other excursion goes to. Oh, by the way, this is also the ideal way to go for bigger groups and families, one of the few things that is perfect for the group that, let’s say “isn’t in agreement all the time” on what to do next. (those vacations with in-laws can be a bear, can’t they?)
C. Watersports Party: There are three of these operations 0n the island. They all have waverunners for your use. Pro: You will be able to use them pretty much as the owner of a waverunner does, that is, go on and bomb around on the machine, come back in and get a soda or a snack, while somebody else takes a turn while you cheer them on. Con: Depending on the number of people on the excursion, you may not get as much time as you wanted on the machine if you’re a real jetski junkie. Howeve, there is so much to do out there that you probably won’t care anyway... they’re really cool trips. See the link to our Watersports Party page up above.
